Cumbaile Font
Type for party people
Design Brief
Cumbaile is a font meant to represent the movement involved in Cumbia music. I designed the font while thinking of Latin America’s beautiful culture and its electrifying music. Cumbia as a genre brings people together, and I can only hope this font is used to do the same. I also created a brand to display how the font can be used.
BRAINSTORMUsing the font Universe as a base and Cumbia as a prompt, I began tracing over letters and seeing how I could alter them to create movement within the type.
BRANDINGOnce I had my font, I started working on creating a brand that reflected the kind of venue I believed would use fonts like mine.
I created La Flor, a cozy restaurant that becomes an energetic party venue after the sun sets.
